Dr Amantha Imber, Head Inventiologist

Dr Amantha Imber is the Head Inventiologist at Inventium and is one of Australia’s leading creativity practitioners. Amantha has a Doctorate in Organisational Psychology, which means that aside from being able to read minds better than most people, she brings a scientific yet highly practical approach to the field of creativity and innovation.

Amantha has that rare talent of taking learnings from science and academia and applying them to practical, real world situations in ways that are simple to understand.

Through Inventium, Amantha has worked with C-Level executives through to university graduates, and has clients across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Africa, and Europe. Her clients include LEGO, Kimbery-Clark, Ogilvy + Mather, BP, Deloitte, OMD, Qantas, Vodafone, and Fosters.

Amantha has written extensively on the subjects of creativity and innovation, and her words can be read in Fast Thinking, Marketing Magazine, Contagious, Human Capital Magazine, Motivation Magazine, Australian Anthill, Marketing Profs, B&T Weekly, International Journal of Selection and Assessment, and Educational and Psychological Measurement and Evaluation.

Amantha had an international record deal for her debut album ‘Like Samantha without the S’, prays to the God of Kevin Spacey, and used to be freakishly good at table tennis.

Adrian Medhurst - Inventiologist and Lab Rat

Adrian Medhurst is a key lab rat in the Inventium team and also pursuing an Organisational Psychology Doctorate at Monash University on the side. Exploring and delivering the science behind mindfulness, well being, positive psychology, and optimal performance states - and how these come to influence employee innovativeness, engagement and performance at work are his true passion. In addition, bringing the brain and body science of creativity to the masses is one of his ongoing pursuits at Inventium.

Prior to Inventium, Adrian had a variety of posts that have exposed him to Management Consulting, Personnel Recruitment and Selection, Organisational Research, as well as Management, and Training and Development within the retail industry.

As well as being a keen researcher (…nerd…), Adrian assists in the development of scientific tools, charismatically delivers at workshops, and facilitates in a friendly and involving fashion.

Earlier in his life he used to spend his days sprinting over sticks for various State and Australian teams (400 metre hurdle champion) where he learnt a great deal about motivation and determination. Adrian’s mum thinks he’s cool, but others would probably call him an energetic and colourful character who has the potential to bust into a jig for no particular reason at all.

Natasha Pincus - Creatiologist and Idea Brimmer

Formerly a Solicitor at a top-tier Melbourne law firm, in 2004 Natasha hung up her suit to focus on her filmmaking career full time. Since leaving legal practice, Natasha has written a number of successful short and feature film scripts.

EMMA AND THE BARISTA screened at a number of international film festivals - winning the Platinum Remi (Short Drama) at the 2005 Worldfest International Film Festival in Houston – and has broadcasted on ABC (Australia), HBO, and HBO Latin. Natasha wrote, directed and co-produced the AFC-funded short, LOVE’S LABOUR, which was honoured with a Dendy Award nomination for Best Short Fiction at the 2007 Sydney Film Festival.

Natasha directed the music video for Paul Kelly’s GOD TOLD ME TO which won the 2007 Inside Film award for best music video. She has since directed music videos for several of Australia’s favourite musicians, including Kasey Chambers, Lior and rock band End of Fashion. Natasha was selected to be a part of Victoria’s Who’s Who of 2007 and 2008, and in recent times has been keeping busy writing the pilot episode for a new TV series in development with Channel 9.

Through Inventium, Natasha brings her facilitation magic to workshops, and also makes appearances on the other side as a participant brimming with ideas.

Shannon Dolan - Strategiologist

Shannon comes to Inventium with a background in economics and advertising. He has worked in strategy for several advertising agencies, advising clients such as Virgin, Telstra and the National Australia Bank.

Through Inventium, Shannon keeps us up to date with the latest news on macro and micro trends, doing geeky stuff like designing and building iPhone applications and being an all-round research guru.

Shannon is curious about almost everything, and is a frequent reader of Geek & Gadget blogs from all over the world. He is also addicted to the Simpsons.

Jess Thirlwell - Communications Clinician/ Adhocologist

Jess Thirlwell tackles the position of Communications Clinician/Adhociologist with gusto. Jess is not one to shy away from getting her hands dirty, and is now often found in the Inventium office on the phone whilst madly formatting data into neat and tidy systems.

Jess has exercised her PR and Communications skills on a number of organisations, including TEAR Australia, Barrabool Hills Baptist, The Salvation Army, Geelong Performing Arts Centre, and Capacity Builders.

Jess enjoys bike riding, shopping, coffee drinking and watching Full House reruns. Singing/humming is another of her loves (humming because singing isn’t always appropriate!) She tries not to burden the office with her musical passion too much, but still enjoys the odd hum along to the radio every now and then.
